Depression, a Thing of the Mind

The ingredients we source in our heart determines what proceeds out of our mouth and what comes out of our mouth, shapes us into what we become in life. One of the oldest books says “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he”. What are your thoughts? who do you think you are?, what are the words that proceeds out of your mouth?. All these put together are a combination of factors that affect us in real life situations.

With the increasing rate of suicides in our society, it becomes impetus to deal with the issue in mind. Depression they say leads to suicide but it all really starts from the mind. Nurturing things that are not going on well enough in our lives is what matures and transforms into what we call depression in the world today. First, understand that we are a product of what goes on in our minds and as such, we shouldn’t give room for thoughts that will lead us into depression. The mind is a powerful tool which must be guarded well to protect it from harming us.

Late Charles B, a popular radio host in his time will always open his program with the saying, guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. There are so many issues in life that will make us want to think less of ourselves but then we should not allow such thought(s). Our minds should be guarded enough to fight against negative thought that can give space for depression. The mind needs to grow to an extent where one comes to understand that life has its good and bad phase and that each phase will pass no matter how long it takes. However, when any of the phases do occur, our minds should be well guarded in taking the right decisions and approach to tackle any or such situation.

Ensure that at every point in life, your thoughts towards every circumstance remain positive. Do not let the happenings around you at the moment affect your future. Do not let negative thoughts cloud your mind and judgments. Do not give room for depression to sneak in. You are made for greatness, inside every man lies the spirit of greatness and all you need to do is activate that greatness to see yourself in the light and work with the vision. Say words that will shape your life not words that will mar your destiny. There is power in the mind, think rightly. You are a product of your thoughts and words. The mind is a powerful tool that shapes our lives; be mindful of what you allow in and out of it.

Be positive about yourself.
