Twitter Marketing Strategies That Work like Magic

Twitter is one of the best tools for your business. Having over 300 million active users, it provides a lot of businesses and individuals the opportunity to reach and connect with a new audience.

And I will be showing you four great marketing strategies you can employ on Twitter to build massive engagements, leads, connect and reach out to the right audience.

1. Communicate, don’t disseminate

Do not make the mistake of just going on Twitter to post that you forget to communicate. Don’t post to sell something alone, or to drive traffic to your business or website. Don’t post just to advertise some new product that you have. Instead, you should take out the time to get into your community and engage with your followers.

2. Perfect Timing

A study showed that the average lifespan of a tweet is just a mere 18 minutes. With over 7,000 posts, twitter is a very tough place to maintain relevance because of the speed at which things change. So, ask yourself, “At what time-zone are my customers located? And when do they usually log on to twitter during the day?” Then make your adjustments.
That’s a big reason you want to pay close attention to what your analytics is telling you. You want to get the best possible results out of each and every post you put out there.
Your posts should be on your followers’ schedule, it shouldn’t be on yours.

3. Do threads

This is another great method to use. I bet you never saw it as a marketing strategy, right? But here’s why this one works absolutely perfectly. People hate suspense, and would do just anything to get the latest gist. Great example is the buzz going on about the series, Game of Thrones. Have you thought about telling a story with your brand, and connecting? This could prove very valuable on twitter where you need a lot of attention on your tweets to sustain its relevance for longer than that short 18 minutes. When you do threads, you build suspense as your followers wait for the next post, and most importantly, you build massive engagement.

4. Sell less than 20% of the time

Yes, I know you are talking “marketing” here, so shouldn’t this be 100% business? Uhmm… I say No!
People want to chill. People want to relax. That’s why they came on Twitter. I cannot say exactly why people come on Twitter (for some people, not to relax though), but I can say one thing – they don’t come to Twitter looking for something to buy, or looking for that link to click on (except, of course, it is very captivating and appealing to them). Use that knowledge, and try to build a following instead. Ask questions while you share maybe a post to your website. Become a valuable resource to your followers – you want to show your followers you care enough by providing them something with value.

Another great twitter marketing strategy you can employ is to promote other people’s content. Doesn’t sound too smart, right? But the fact is that everyone wants to get noticed. Don’t get too lost in that and refuse to provide value to those who follow you. Be different!
